When I decided to start my blog, it took me a long time to find beautiful WordPress themes. I went through a few free options but they were slow and more importantly, hard to customize. In addition to that, the designers either were MIA or not extremely helpful.
This is why I finally paid for a WordPress theme. I’m so thrilled I did!
When I decided on a company selling beautiful WordPress themes, I chose to go with Bluchic. It’s run by husband and wife team, Andrew and Kathie, and they do a fabulous job, as far as I’m concerned. (And, by the way, they don’t just have WordPress themes. They also have Canva social media templates, landing page templates, and other services.)

What to Look for in a WordPress Theme
Easy to Use
When I was looking for a theme, I wanted a few things. First, I wanted it to be simple but not clunky. I’ll be the first to tell you that I’m not a techie person, so finding beautiful WordPress themes that were easy to set up (without me feeling like banging my head against the desk) was a must! Bluchic has that easy-to-use edge. When you purchase a theme through them, you also get a link to one of their website pages full of step-by-step tutorials (written and video) so that you can set up your website properly. This helped me tremendously! I cannot tell you how many hours I fiddled with other designers’ themes just to end up frustrated and no closer to having a cute website. Bluchic definitely gave me what I needed.
A Design that Fits Your Niche
Second, I truly wanted it to be beautiful. As a female blogger who focuses on rustic design, organization, and homemaking, I felt it only made sense to have a theme that reflected that niche. Bluchic’s themes have the potential to be very feminine (which I loooove!). However, if your style is a bit different, don’t let that stop you. You can easily change all the colors to fit your needs, and of course, you can change the header to include your logo. (Easy peasy, thanks to Bluchic’s tutorials!)
Compatible with SEO, WordPress, and Any Frameworks
When you’re choosing beautiful WordPress themes, you want to make sure you pick ones that are compatible with whatever your technical needs are. For example, some themes are actually “child themes” that work in conjunction with the Genesis framework. In that case, you need to purchase both the Genesis framework and a compatible child theme. Thankfully, Bluchic doesn’t need the Genesis framework to run. To me, Bluchic’s themes are plenty easy to use and do everything I want them to do.
Another thing to keep in mind concerning compatibility is WordPress’s recent upgrade, the Gutenberg editor. The Gutenberg editor makes writing your blog posts much different than before–and some themes aren’t compatible with the new developments. But not to worry, Bluchic’s themes are!
Their themes are SEO compatible, too. All coding is not equal when it comes to SEO, and Bluchic incorporates microdata.org to make websites attractive to Google.
Responsive to All Devices
Too many times, I have installed a free theme that didn’t respond well to mobile devices. Or other screens like iPads or Kindle Fires. This, of course, left me frustrated and disheartened. When you spend so much time preparing your website, you want your viewers to enjoy the experience or else they’re likely to leave. Well, Bluchic’s themes are all responsive. No matter the device, your website will be beautiful and easy to read.

Great question! The beautiful WordPress theme I’m using from Bluchic is the Rachel theme, which I love love love love! Like I’ve mentioned before, I’ve tried other themes, and I’ve searched for a long time for something that looked like this. I’m so very pleased to have found it!
